Revolt chairs by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel

Four metal blue colored chairs, model Revolt, plywood and metal, by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel, the Netherlands.
This model chair is designed in 1958. The frame is made of profiled sheet metal, coated in black. The seat and back are from laminated wood and have been professionally repainted in the original color. These beautiful and highly wanted chairs have a high quality black lacquered metal base and 2nd edition armrests. Very recognizable pieces of Dutch design. Friso Kramer, born in Amsterdam in 1922 started as an Industrial and furniture designer. As a member of influential groups and movements, Friso Kramer’s ideas and creations have consistently worked to propel the modernist aesthetic of the Netherlands. In the period from 1948 to 1963 he was employed by De Cirkel, where he designed some of his most iconic pieces such as the “Revolt Chair.”
