LC13 Wagon Fumoir Arm Chair by Le Corbusier for Cassina

This Black leather LC 13 chair was designed in 1931 by Le Corbusier in cooperation with Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. The design of this model was done by Le Corbusier in 1931 for the smoking carriages of the French railways.
The original feature of this model is the way the padded cushions of the seat and back are not fastened down to the support structure but seem to float freely in the space of the frame. This LC13 Chair is upholstered in black leather.
Since 1964, Cassina has been exclusive manufacturer of Le Corbusier’s furniture, an of those crafted in collaboration with Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. The LC13 was part of the collection “I Maestri” by Cassina. The chair has the indelible signature with the Foundation’s logo and Le Corbusier’s signature, as well as a serial number. These marks are the guarantee of authenticity of the furniture produced by Cassina.
The LC13 was launched in 2006, the number on this LC13 chair, is a low serial number 000019.
This model is not any more in production at Cassina, and out of the collection.
